NASDAQlovakia

Today, March 15, 2004, the NASDAQ closed at 1939.20. This is interesting because that translates to March 15, 1939. On that day, Hitler decided to take the rest of Czechoslovakia, too.

You are incorrect once again. 1939.20 translates to January 20th, 1939.

January 20, 1939 was the day that Hitler informed German parliament that the Jews needed to be eliminated.

No, see: March 15 is exactly 20% into the year.

OK, see below (Ding Ding Ding)

You have lucked out that 20% of a year works out to exactly 73 days. Which, of course, means that 1939.20 is 0000 hours, or 12 midnight, March 15, 1939. Is that when Hitler did the thing you said he did? Or was it, perhaps, at 8:45pm, which would, I believe, be 1939.201 by your reckoning?

It will be relatively rare for you to find NASDAQW closings which fall on actual days like this at any rate.

I dig it though, it is a lot like astrology.

0.20 * 365.25 days = 73.05 days. Since 1939 wasn't a leap year, January and February take up 59 days. That leaves 73.05 - 59 = 14.05 days. So that's .05 days into March 15th, or 0.05 * 86,400 seconds = 4320 seconds = 1 hour and 12 minutes.
So that's 1:12 AM on March 15th, 1939.

What time zone? I'm not sure, but it might be GMT. Or UTC. That seems the best way to go.

Well he was probably in Berlin, right? That should be GMT +1 I think, one hour later than GMT. *giggle*

Of course...*titter* Of course...as of 11:26am that day...omg...the sun was at...AHAHAA..wait, wait, excuse me...THE SUN WAS AT 23 degrees PISCES...BWAHAHAHAHAHA...and the moon....the moon was at 16 degrees CAPRIAHAHAHAHAHAAAaaa
