Has it come to this?

Thanks to my brother for bringing this article to my attention.

Again, like that article I posted on my blog about the grad student whose tedious thesis is going to be classified, this is totally one of my fantasies. I dream about this kind of thing, except usually the feds are trying to kill me, and I'm crawling all over the floor to escape the bullets coming through the windows.

I think it's because I read Firestarter at too early an age.

In regards to the content, that's fucked up. It's too cliche to recall 1984 because that comparasion is made all too often about the current state of civil rights. So, I will mention A Wrinkle in Time even though that also alluded to communism. We're going to be just like that dark world!

That's very, very, very messed up.

If there is a silver lining to this story, it's that I first learned about it last night on MSNBC. It's refreshing to know the mainstream media hasn't been rendered completely ineffectual by the rampant fear in our country today.

Eek! I read articles too!

It has been so long since I read A Wrinkle in Time.

I remember an ant on a string, and mitochondria.
And I remember learning how lame our watches are.

That kid thought he was so fucking smart.
"Look at me! I know about mitochondria and
I'm only a child! Excuse me while I travel
through space!" Jerk.

Agreed, Charles Wallace was quite annoying. As were Sandy and Dennys. Calvin and Meg were by far the best ones.
