Got myself some culture tonight and saw The Last Seder, at Theatre J.
It was a very good play, and in fact it made me cry. Lest you think I'm a big sissy, it made everybody cry. Still, I became extremely nostalgic for the big gatherings of our extended family when I was younger, the seders, the Thanksgiving dinners, the birthdays. I was a kid, surrounded by all these adults whom I loved Now I'm the adult, and there are no more children, and fewer relatives. I'm reminded of Avalon.
Maybe I just need some sleep.

Good plays always make me cry. You might not guess it to know me, but I'm the biggest crybaby ever. I even cried at various points during both Lord of the Rings movies. It's ok, I accept your ridicule.

Oooh, I heard there's a NAKED scene in this play? Is that really why you went, David?

I read the post review of that play, and the reporter mentioned that it was particularly emotional, especially the NAKED scene.
<post BA Maureen> For Yhwh's sake, it's my turn to talk now!
<pre BA Maureen> C'mon, nobody would be going to see it if not for the nudity!
<post BA Maureen> There are a lot of educated people in the DC area. They recognize that it is art.
<pre BA Maureen> Look at me! I'm so smart! I read the economist!
<post BA Maureen> ...
<post BA Maureen> Now that was just entirely uncalled for.

quite like a naked old man.
